USA vs. Algeria 2010 FIFA World Cup

The United States World Cup story continues as they score a wonderful late goal, and beat Algeria to reach the round of 16 as group winners with much fancied England in second place.
Despite, controlling much of the game, the Yanks struggled to put the ball in the back of the net, again having a perfectly good goal disallowed.
However, despite going agonizingly close in the first half as Altidore's shot from close range went over the cross bar, the American boys managed to salvage the victory when the game seemed to be slipping through their fingers with a goal in the 91st minute of play.

A solid performance from Bornstein who was starting his first World Cup game. Was subbed late in the game as Bradley tried to turn the screw on Algeria as the game was heading for a draw.

The colossus of the American goal, Howard was the catalyst for the late goal. His quick thinking release allowed his teammates a break with numbers and the rest is history.
Bocanegra lead by example, as the captain of the team he controlled the back four and marshaled the team well from the back. A true captains performance, when the team needed heroes, up stepped Bocanegra.
